Evesham Charter Market Relaunch: Saturday 28th November, 2026

We’re very happy to announce the relaunch of Evesham Charter Market in Market Place, on Saturday 28th November, at 10am.

We’ll then be there every Saturday, with Tuesday Markets hopefully launching in 2027.

We’ve had a fantastic response from traders, who we’ll be getting in touch with individually over the next few days to confirm bookings.

The launch follows the town Christmas Lights switch-on the night before, and the Tree of Light & Lantern Parade on Thursday 26th. It will, unsurprisingly, be a Christmas-themed Market.

It was wonderful to see market stalls back in the square this past weekend as part of Evesham Veg Fest, and the event gave us a lot of confidence in the direction we’re taking.

Thanks, also, to the many messages and emails we’ve had from locals and visitors alike, who all want to see Evesham thrive as we know it can.

Looking ahead: themes throughout 2027

We’ve got lots of plans for both the launch, and the future of the Market. Every month, one of the Saturdays will take on a unique theme. Take a look below to see what we’ll be up to in 2027…

January: Fitness or Frivolity
A ‘yin and yang’ event, depending on how you want to start your new year: get fit and healthy with the right foods, enjoy Dry January with some alcohol-free offerings, speak to gyms, personal trainers, and other experts. Or, in the other half of the Market, just indulge in the best food, chocolate, and booze we can find. Truly something for everyone.

February: Love is in the air
Pick up something special for the loved one(s) in your life at our romance-themed Market. We’ll be bringing in flowers, chocolates, gifts, and much more — because nothing says you love someone like spending a load of money on them.

March: Spring Forward
It’s the Spring Equinox, those lovely shoots of new growth are starting to appear, and it’s time to think about the year ahead, and the garden. We’ll have a fine array of plants, flowers, seeds, and experts to help you turn those chilly fingers green again.

April: All things asparagus
It’s April. It’s Evesham. Of course it’s asparagus. We’ll be celebrating the start of this delicious season in true gras style with plenty of food, events, and ideas for everyone to enjoy.

May: Medieval Market
The Battle of Evesham’s Medieval Market takes centre stage this month, but we’ll be supporting them with a High Street Market and hopefully some medieval cooking advice.

June: Solstice & Morris
June brings us the longest day of the year, and one of the busiest weekends in town, as 500 or so jingly dancers descend on Evesham to enjoy The Vale of Evesham National Morris Weekend. We’ll join them in celebrating the very best of British food, drink, culture, music, nature, and history on the Saturday, before the big dance-off in the square on the Sunday.

July: School’s out for summer
The schools are closing up, holidays are beckoning, so we’re going to fill the Market with things of interest to see you all through the next few weeks, whether it’s holiday reading ideas, events, hobbies to pick up and more.

August: The Bottle of Evesham
Every August sees tens of thousands of visitors arrive in Evesham for the fantastic Battle of Evesham event down by the river. We’ll be running a special drinks festival in Market Place, focusing on local beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks.

September: Veg Fest
The inaugural Veg Fest was a great success this year, and we’re going to work with Evesham Placeboard and Town Council team to build on that and celebrate the Vale of Evesham’s place as one of the most important areas in the country for fruit and vegetables.

October: Trick or Treat
The clocks go back, the nights draw in, and it’s time to start buying pumpkins, making soup and other wholesome, hearty food, and planning the trick or treating, perhaps with some more interesting treats, and some exciting costumes.

November: Christmas Market
Don’t worry, it won’t be too early in the month. We’ll be helping you to get a head start on all things festive, with a great Christmas Market, mulled things, gift ideas, food inspiration, and much more.

December: Winter Solstice
The shortest day of the year gives you chance to look back on what’s been, and look ahead to what’s coming: the days will slowly start to lengthen, Christmas and New Year will come and go. Get yourself ready to hunker down for winter with some ideas from our cozy Market.

Other regular events and stallholders

I’ve said from the start that I want this to be an Evesham Market, for Evesham, not just in Evesham.

That means celebrating our local people, businesses, and organisations, beyond the stallholders you might expect to find at a traditional Charter Market.

We’ll be finding ways for local businesses whose services perhaps don’t lend themselves to a Market to get involved: helping visitors on the day, providing information about their services and other organisations in town, and more.

Charities and not-for-profit organisations will be encouraged to participate, run stalls at low or no cost, and share the great work they do with visitors.

It’s important to make space for young people too, so we’ll be running regular ‘young trader’ events where people under-18 can bring their ideas to the Market.

And, there will be a monthly Market focused on local farmers, growers, and makers.

Evesham Market will become a vehicle to promote the town & Vale community: its residents, businesses, events, culture, tradition, history — and its future.

The Market will:

  • Celebrate, include, and feature existing town businesses first.
  • Complement the town centre, not compete with it, through the introduction of a thoughtful range of additional stallholders.
  • Bring money into the town, not extract it.
  • Increase visitor numbers and footfall throughout Evesham.
  • Work with local events to add further value to their attraction.
  • Encourage and promote innovation, ideas, enthusiasm, creativity, youth, and experience.

Please do get in touch with any suggestions, ideas, stallholders, events, and more which you feel might be of interest, using the options below.
